'How do we make tax returns fun for kids? How do we teach them about taxable income, deductions etc. without boring them to death? I know! Let's create an allegorical night club to represent the S form, and make them go through each room and meet quirky characters embodying these concepts!'

That was probably the pitch for this program, created by Film Australia for the Australian Tax Office. Checklist: neon signs, fluro clothes, boomboxes, breakdancing. It doesn't get more 80s than this instructional video!

Its young stars would soon achieve great success. Mendelsohn now spends his time between Australia and Hollywood, and has had starring roles in both the Star Wars (Rogue One, 2016) and Marvel Cinematic universes (Captain Marvel, 2019).

Carides starred in Acropolis Now (1989) and Death in Brunswick (1990) and has had a very successful career in Australian television.
