Web Accessibility

Accessibility and useability were key elements in the formation of this National Film and Sound Archive website in 2016 and we have strived to achieve a web accessibility compliance level of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA in accordance with the recommendations of the Australian Human Rights Commission

To demonstrate our commitment, we sought expert, independent accessibility testing by the Digital Accessibility Services team at Media Access Australia. They assessed the website as meeting Level A and Level AA WCAG 2.0 compliance, according to the international benchmark developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). They conducted rigorous compliance testing in two rounds and in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM).

Accessible Arts performed a Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Compliance Audit on a sample of pages from this website in December 2022.

We are committed to providing a website and online information that are accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of location, technology or ability. We will continue to work to address any limitations which may prohibit visitors from successfully navigating or using the site, to ensure an accessible experience for all.

If you have any questions or comments relating to accessibility, please email us at online@nfsa.gov.au.
