Australian animation and visual effects studio Animal Logic has been involved in some of the biggest films of the past 30 years. These school holidays, we’re happy to share some of the spectacular animated movies they helped bring to life! From the mischievous fun of Peter Rabbit (2018) and the clever and ‘awesome’ The Lego Movie (2014) to the Academy Award-winning Happy Feet (2006), there’s something to bring a smile to the faces of everyone in the family.

Rachel Griffiths is one of Australia’s great and enduring talents and Arc Cinema will be taking just a small look at her phenomenal career. Beginning with one of Rachel’s first starring roles on screen in Amy (1997), followed by her first Hollywood role in My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) and breakout role as Rhonda in Muriel’s Wedding (1994).

Also showing this month is Peter Weir’s masterpiece Gallipoli (1981) on 35mm film, 80s teen comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) for Arc Out Loud and a free screening of psychological horror Hereditary (2018) starring Toni Collette, in partnership with the National Gallery of Australia. And don’t forget episode 2 of documentary series Women Make Film (2018), followed by Toni Erdmann (2016). And finally, join us for special Q&A event When the Camera Stopped Rolling, a new documentary from Jane Castle, who puts a spotlight on her mother, pioneer Australian filmmaker Lilias Fraser.
