From action to drama to adventure, July brings you everything you could want to see at Arc Cinema!

Be sure not to miss the first of our new NFSA Trivia nights. The theme is Australians and Hollywood and tickets to this event will include access to our Australians & Hollywood exhibition.

Who were the Marvellous Corricks? Come to our special curatorial presentation on 30 July to learn more about this remarkable family and their innovative travelling film and stage show from early last century.

Get the kids excited for the school holidays with 6 animated adventure films showing this month – not to mention the delightful live action Paddington (2014) movie too! From the new Disney hits Encanto (2021) and Pixar's Lightyear (2022), to a special sing-along showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), Arc Cinema has something for the whole family to enjoy.

During NAIDOC Week, we have a special screening of Leah Purcell's The Drover's Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson (2021). The film brings a female First Nations gaze to the classic Henry Lawson poem and is not to be missed.

Make sure to check out the next instalments of our 2 ongoing monthly film series. First up is the fifth episode of Women Make Film (2018), which showcases the various innovative contributions women have made to the art of filmmaking. Following that is The Arch (1968), by noted female director Tang Shu Shuen, a pioneer of Hong Kong’s art-house scene. Our second series, a dive into director Frederick Wiseman’s long and multi-award-winning career, continues this month with both Central Park (1989) and High School II (1994).

Don’t miss out on our special double feature celebrating the queen of martial arts herself, Michelle Yeoh. This month we bring you a back-to-back showing of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) on 35mm, as well as the most original film of the year so far, Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022). Tickets can be purchased individually or as a double pass at a special price!

Please help us keep everyone safe by reading and following our COVID-safety and visitor information and don’t forget to get your Club NFSA card when you arrive. Follow the links below to purchase your tickets now!
