Flicker
The alternation of darker and lighter periods which can be visually appreciated during projection. In motion projection it is an unwanted periodic variation in luminance of the projected picture.
Flicker Blade
A sector on a shutter additional to the cover blade, which, by increasing the frequency of cut-off, reduces flicker.
