Grading charts
A card or chart recording the selected printing exposure values (lights) of each scene. The required ‘light’ is determined during the grading process. Older style film printers needed to have the information entered as one step at a time and this was read from these charts. The charts were then stored with the film.
Nowadays, this data is transferred into the frame count cueing format for use on automated film printing machines.
