Heritage Value

Heritage Value incorporates the cultural significance of the title based on factors such as: aesthetic; historic; social; evidential and scientific values.

Example
Oral histories

Some of the factors that curatorial staff may take into account when choosing which items are to be preserved, include the historic, aesthetic, social, evidential and scientific significance of the items.

For example, you might want to target the preservation of oral histories, which are considered important as they often contain unique material that would not be captured anywhere else.

Heritage Value and Access Value combine to make up the Collection Risk Assessment Framework concept of Consequence of Loss.
