After the coup has been foiled, Stacey (Ray Barrett) meets Cathy, the child/woman (Janet Scrivener), at a café. As her godfather, he had given her a golliwog, when she was eight.

Stacey (Ray Barrett) goes to a separatist political rally, looking for the missing girl, Cathy McCredie (Janet Scrivener).

Bet (Jan Adele) discovers her daughter-in-law Lilli (Judy Davis) at the caravan park. Lilli is talking to Bet’s granddaughter Ally (Claudia Karvan), who does not know that Lilli is her mother.

Ally (Claudia Karvan) wants to know if her parents loved her. Grandmother Bet (Jan Adele) assures her that they did. Ally says she sometimes dreams about her father.

Lilli (Judy Davis) takes Ally (Claudia Karvan) out for lunch. Overwhelmed when Ally talks about her father, Lilli cries in the toilet. Summary by Richard Kuipers.
