Mike (Greg Rowe) and his father (Peter Cummins) go to warn Fingerbone Bill (David Gulpilil) that trouble is brewing.

The brother and sister are dying of thirst, camped by a spring that has dried up while they were asleep. The boy (Lucien John) sees a figure on the horizon.

While his father takes a catch of fish to sell in town, Mike (Greg Rowe) discovers some illegal hunters shooting birds.

Mike (Greg Rowe) is overjoyed when Mr Percival, his pet pelican, returns after being set free.

Arnhem Land, in the Northern Territory. On the beach it’s time to play out one of the dramas of daily life – the return of the hunters.

A dead kangaroo sits on the ground between Camphoo and Crook Hat. The elder hooks the stick under the sinew of the kangaroo, and turns it to remove the long tendon.

The two elders with their spears straightened and smoothed, make holes in the ends with a stone knife for the woomera.

Elders Crook Hat and Camphoo are walking through the bush searching for the right tree to make spears. They tell us that the old people used to cut down the Acacia tree to make spears.

Patricia Blaydon (Shirley Ann Richards) has been invited by Lady Denvee (Bobbie Hunt) to ride with the local fox hunt.
