This clip of actuality footage was shot in 1899. It shows Queensland politicians boarding the paddle steamer Lucinda, moored at a wharf on the Brisbane River.

The new NFSA documentary Steam on the Harbour showcases Darling Harbour as a busy railway goods yard, long before it became a Sydney tourist destination.

The Lumière Collection includes some of the oldest footage in the NFSA collection: over 30 short films made in 1899.
